Child abducted, raped

Ludhiana, September 14A six-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a person on Bhamian Road, Jamalpur, in the wee hours today. The Jamalpur SHO, Inspector Harjinder Singh, said the victim was a migrant labourer’s daughter. “Around 2.30 am when her father woke up, he found his daughter missing. The SHO said a case under Section 364 and 376 of the IPC and the POCSO Act has been registered. The SHO said while the residents were searching for the girl, they nabbed a suspect.

She slept by her father last night. “Around 2.30 am when her father woke up, he found his daughter missing. He raised the alarm and his neighbours gathered there. They started searching for the girl. She was found lying on the road 400 metre from the house. Her private part was profusely bleeding,” he added. The SHO said a case under Section 364 and 376 of the IPC and the POCSO Act has been registered. The SHO said while the residents were searching for the girl, they nabbed a suspect. He introduced himself as Bablu. However, he escaped. — TNS
