Our CorrespondentAhmedgarh, September 16Activists of various organisations fighting for resolving the long-pending issue of overflowing sewage threatened to lock the office of the Municipal Council (MC) if the problem was not solved within two days. The two-day ultimatum was given during the concluding session of a protest rally organised in front of the MC office on Monday. Interestingly, none of the senior functionaries of the council came to pacify the protesters. Former president of the Municipal Council (MC) Ravinder Puri lamented that residents of the worst-affected areas had been urging the MC authorities to solve their long-pending issue of overflowing sewage. Situation at Dhanak Basti, Amarpura Mohalla, Jain School Road, Dasmesh Nagar, Guru Nanak Nagar, Dhulkot Road and Khalsa Kanya School was stated to be so bad that these areas had turned out to be breeding bowls for pathogens and microbes.
