SCHOOL NOTESLudhiana: As per the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, kicked off a reading session from September 9 to 15 September. The reading week was organised to highlight the need to promote the practice of reading. Book review sessions by students, reading hours and interactions were also held in the school library on the importance of reading. A 45-minute mass reading programme throughout the week was organised, in whichall students, teachers and the non-teaching faculty read newspapers and books. Hindi diwas celebratedRyan International School, Dugri, celebrated Hindi Diwas to promote Hindi language among students.

The reading week was organised to highlight the need to promote the practice of reading. Several activities for personality development of the students were organised as part of the programme. Book review sessions by students, reading hours and interactions were also held in the school library on the importance of reading. A 45-minute mass reading programme throughout the week was organised, in whichall students, teachers and the non-teaching faculty read newspapers and books. Principal Jyoti Pujara said the school always provided a platform for budding writers to showcase their talent. Story-telling competition A story-telling competition was organized for students of LKG at BCM Kindergarten, Chandigarh Road. This competition provided an ample opportunity to kids to exhibit their narrative and descriptive skills. Students used different props and charts to make the stories lively. Hindi diwas celebrated Ryan International School, Dugri, celebrated Hindi Diwas to promote Hindi language among students. A poem recitation and slogan-making competition was organised to familiarise students with the Devanagri script. Students of Class I to V spoke eloquently on the importance of Hindi language while students of Class VI to X spread awareness regarding the simplicity and richness of Hindi language through slogan writing. coffee session for parents DCM Presidency School, elementary campus, hosted a morning coffee session under the “Wishes and Stars” programme for the parents of nursery students. The session included key information about the day-to-day classroom management, insight of the curriculum and the importance of the use of phonics teaching method. Tiny tots get First-Aid training To make kids understand the importance of first-aid and safety, a workshop was held by the medical faculty of Ryan International School. Students were explained how and when first-aid should be given. They were also told the importance of first-aid. TNS
