Chemists give one month time to review decision

During the meeting of the Punjab Chemists' Association today, it was decided to give one month's time to the government to decide about the policy. Surinder Duggal, president of the Punjab Chemists' Association, said in case, the government failed to decide anything about the drug policy in one month, on October 16, they would go on strike for one day and even then if the government fails to take any positive step, they would be forced to go on indefinite hunger strike. "Members from all the districts will go to Chandigarh and sit on indefinite hunger strike. It was from April this year that the government had decided to implement the new drug policy which was deferred by the then Health Minister Braham Mohindra after the chemists intervene, but now again the government is deciding to impose the policy," he said.
