Ludhiana September 17 A day after a man, who had gone to buy liquor, went missing, his body was recovered from the Sidhwan Canal today. The body had some injury marks. On a statement of the deceased’s son, the police started inquest proceedings under Section 174, CrPC. Division 6 SHO Amarjit Singh said the deceased had been identified as Raghuvir Singh (55), a resident of Dashmesh Nagar. On Sunday night around 9 pm, he told his son that he was going to buy liquor from the nearby vend, but didn’t return home. On Monday, the family lodged a missing person complaint with the police. Around 9 pm the same day, a body was found floating in the Sidhwan Canal. The deceased’s face and chest had injury marks. The police suspect that he could have been murdered and the body thrown into the canal. TNS Youth’s body found Khanna: The body of a youth was found floating in the pond at Kalal Majra village near here. The deceased has been identified as Gurmeet Singh, a resident of the same village. Kaka Singh, brother of the deceased, said his younger brother had gone missing two days ago. On Monday evening, some person noticed Gurmeet’s body floating in the pond. The body was handed over to Gurmeet’s guardians after post-mortem. OC
