‘Maintain healthy relations with students to give right guidance’

There were many career options available but it was difficult to choose the right career option, and that is where a teacher could help its students, they added. They suggested teachers to maintain a friendly relationship with their students for providing them right guidance. Satwant Kaur Bhullar, principal of host school, laid emphasis upon the need and importance of career guidance programmes. She said such workshops enabled teachers to set students in the right direction.

Tribune News Servicce Ludhiana, September 17 DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, hosted a two-day capacity building programme on career guidance, under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education. As many as 55 delegates from various CBSE schools participated in the workshop, which was conducted by Dalbir Singh, principal of Gyan Ganga School, Sangrur, and Monica, principal of Everest Public Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana. The resource persons acquainted the gathering with changes in the education scenario worldwide. They reminded teachers that every student faced the dilemma of “what next “and “which stream” after Class X and XII. There were many career options available but it was difficult to choose the right career option, and that is where a teacher could help its students, they added. They suggested teachers to maintain a friendly relationship with their students for providing them right guidance. They gave teachers several tips to recognise the aptitude of their students. Satwant Kaur Bhullar, principal of host school, laid emphasis upon the need and importance of career guidance programmes. She expressed her appreciation to the CBSE for providing a golden opportunity to teachers to broaden their horizon. She said such workshops enabled teachers to set students in the right direction. She advised teachers to seek professional help at the grassroot levels to guide students in career decisions and help them to reduce stress of career selection.
