Mayor calls meeting to decide on LED streetlight project

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, September 17Following complaints of slow pace of installation and maintenance work of LED streetlights in various areas, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu has called an all-party meeting which is scheduled for Thursday. Sandhu said they would decide in the meeting about further action that would be taken as the work of the company that is handling the LED streetlights project is not satisfactory. Sandhu said the LED streetlights project was a part of the Smart City mission while MC Additional Commissioner is CEO of Ludhiana Smart City Limited. Councillors of various parties will attend the meeting to take the final decision on the LED streetlights project, he added. Streetlights on during the dayAccording to information, LED streetlights have not been switched off for the past 48 hours in several streets of SKS Nagar on Pakhowal Road.
