250 illegal liquor cartons seized

Our CorrespondentSamrala, September 18The police claim to have recovered 250 cartons of illegal liquor from a Canter and arrested the driver of the vehicle. During search, 250 cartons of illegal liquor were recovered from Canter, he said. The recovered liquor was meant for sale in Chandigarh only, he said. The suspect had brought liquor from Chandigarh, he said. The driver was presented in a court from where he was sent to two-day police remand, he added.

Our Correspondent Samrala, September 18 The police claim to have recovered 250 cartons of illegal liquor from a Canter and arrested the driver of the vehicle. The driver has been identified as Parshotam Singh, a resident of Mehmoodpur Mandar village in Nawanshahr district. The SSP, Khanna, GS Grewal, said a police party stopped Canter coming from Samrala side and going towards Khanna at a naka in front of Bardhalan police chowki. During search, 250 cartons of illegal liquor were recovered from Canter, he said. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, he added. The recovered liquor was meant for sale in Chandigarh only, he said. A case under the Excise Act was registered in this regard, he added. The suspect had brought liquor from Chandigarh, he said. The driver was presented in a court from where he was sent to two-day police remand, he added.
