e-ticketing yet to start at parking lots

The contractors were supposed to start e-ticketing through the mobile app, but the process is getting delayed. Besides, some other conditions are not being fulfilled at these parking lots. Sources said the CCTV cameras had not been installed at a number of parking lots. Even the digital signage to show capacity, occupancy and vacant slots are missing at the entry point of various parking lots. MC’Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain said the contractors had sought some time to start the mobile app system at parking lots.

Harshraj Singh Ludhiana, September 18 Even two weeks after the MC handed over four parking lots to the contractors concerned, the facility of ‘Finlo’, a mobile app for online parking ticket, is yet to be ensured at these sites. The contractors were supposed to start e-ticketing through the mobile app, but the process is getting delayed. According to the norms, the mobile app shall be used by the public/licensee to generate e-parking tickets and monthly passes under the smart parking solution. The contractors shall get amount in their bank account directly. Currently, the facility to purchase online tickets through the app is not available for the parking sites of the multi-level parking site, Bhadaur House, BRS Nagar and Model Town Extension. The MC had conducted e-auction of these parking sites on August 29. However, the MC officials claimed that the contractors were given some time to ensure the e-ticketing facility through the mobile app. As per conditions, the contractor is bound to issue e-tickets of parking through ‘Finlo’ app. In case of failure, a penalty of Rs 1,000 per day for each parking lot will be imposed upon him. But beyond two weeks of not using the app, the agreement will be cancelled and security amount shall be forfeited without any notice as per rules. Besides, some other conditions are not being fulfilled at these parking lots. The contractors were supposed to install adequate number of CCTV cameras to connect the parking areas, including each entry and exit point connected to server with data feed to the Ludhiana MC. Sources said the CCTV cameras had not been installed at a number of parking lots. MC’Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain said the contractors had sought some time to start the mobile app system at parking lots. “We will start checking of the parking sites soon. If any violation is done, required action will be taken,” he said.
