Contract for LED lights to be cancelled

Ludhiana, September 19Perturbed over the alleged slow pace of installation and non-functional LED lights in the city, Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) today decided to terminate the contract of Tata Company. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra, leader of Opposition Harbhajan Singh Dang and several other councillors. Municipal Commissioner Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar and CEO, Ludhiana Smart City Limited, Sanyam Aggarwal were present during the meeting. Councillor Mamta Ashu alleged that the deadline to complete all works related to the installation of LED lights was May 7, but Tata Company failed to complete the work. Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu said he had been getting complaints due to the slow pace of work by the company from MC councillors for the past several months.

The meeting was chaired by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra, leader of Opposition Harbhajan Singh Dang and several other councillors. Municipal Commissioner Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar and CEO, Ludhiana Smart City Limited, Sanyam Aggarwal were present during the meeting. Councillor Mamta Ashu alleged that the deadline to complete all works related to the installation of LED lights was May 7, but Tata Company failed to complete the work. After discussion, Aggarwal clearly told the company officials that they would get a letter of termination shortly as they would not let the city residents suffer. Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu said he had been getting complaints due to the slow pace of work by the company from MC councillors for the past several months. — TNS
