LSSC Badminton Tourney: Ryan International girls bag 2 titles

Our Sports CorrespondentLudhiana, November 5Ryan International School bagged two titles, while Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, clinched one title in girls’ section in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (Central Zone) Badminton Tournament being held at Green Land Convent School, Civil City, here today. Ryan International School players stamped their supremacy by winning top honours in the girls’ Under-14 and U-17 sections, while Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, secured first position in the girls’ Under-19 category. In the girls’ Under-14 group, Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, and GAD Academy, Ladian Khurd, finished as first and second runners-up, respectively. Similarly, in the girls’ Under-17 category, Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, secured the second position, while GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, finished at the third place. In the girls’ Under-19 section, hosts Green Land Convent School, Civil City, had to be content with the runners-up trophy and Ryan International School secured the third position.

Teams (boys and girls) from schools affiliated with the CBSE and falling under the central zone are competing in this tournament. Matches in the boys’ section will be played on November 6 and 7. Ryan International School players stamped their supremacy by winning top honours in the girls’ Under-14 and U-17 sections, while Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, secured first position in the girls’ Under-19 category. In the girls’ Under-14 group, Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, and GAD Academy, Ladian Khurd, finished as first and second runners-up, respectively. Similarly, in the girls’ Under-17 category, Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, secured the second position, while GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, finished at the third place. Ritu, Principal of the host school, gave away prizes to the position holders.
