DAV, Pakhowal Road students bag 20 medals

Taekwondo CompetitionOur Sports CorrespondentLudhiana, November 10Students of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road branch, who reaped a rich haul of medals in the DAV National Sports-Zonal Level Taekwondo, Wushu and Karate Tournament held at Amritsar, were accorded a warm welcome on reaching the school here on Saturday. These students bagged as many as 20 medals, including seven gold medals in three events of martial arts competition, and stamped their supremacy. The boy students also clinched overall trophy in this tournament to bring fame to the school. Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar, principal of the school, appreciated the students’ performance and congratulated the faculty of the Physical Education Department. The students who secured medals in this championship, held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar areTaekwondo (boys)Sanchit, Itish Garg, Hetav and Aarpit (gold); Pratham (silver) and Dhruv (bronze).

Wushu (girls) Sanya (gold) Karate (girls) Shiney (silver) Priyanka and Amisha (bronze).
