60 attend workshop on welding techniques

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, November 13CICU organised a one-day workshop on Improving Weld Quality and Productivity here today. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU, welcomed the participants and said, “Welding is the backbone of all type of industries. It is necessary to upgrade the welding skills and machines by our MSMEs to cope up with the changing times by adopting latest welding techniques as well as world-class machines. This workshop will upgrade the skills with the use of latest welding techniques and use of world-class welding equipment so that the industry could be benefited for production and quality enhancement, cost saving and pollution control etc. Over 60 participants, including unit heads, production, quality, maintenance and weldshop workers, attended the workshop.

Didarjit Singh, Vice-President, CICU, also shared his thoughts with the participants. Over 60 participants, including unit heads, production, quality, maintenance and weldshop workers, attended the workshop. The interactive session was conducted by Dr Amandeep Singh Shahi, PhD (IIT Delhi) Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal (SLIET- Deemed University) , who is having more than 20 years experience of teaching and research in the area of welding materials, metallurgy and actively involved in welding research.
