Eight held for gambling

6 have arrested six persons on the charge of gambling and recovered Rs 1.02 lakh cash from them. The suspects have been identified as Gurnam Singh of Nirankari Mohalla, Pritpal Singh of Vishawkarma Colony, Gurmeet Singh of Maan Nagar, Sanjiv of Aman Nagar, Manmohan Lal of Vishawkarma Colony, Arun Kumar and Satwinder Singh of Nirankari Mohalla, and Ramesh Kumar of Vishawkarma Colony. Investigating officer, ASI Kapil Kumar, said on receiving a tip-off about persons gambling at some place in Vishawkarma Colony, a police party conducted a raid and arrested the suspects with cash. Complainant Jatinder Kumar of Sidhupur village told the police that on November 7, his daughter had left home without informing anyone in the family. Later, complainant came to know that the suspect had kidnapped his daughter on the pretext of marrying her.

The suspects were released on bail. TNS 17-yr-old girl goes missing Ludhiana: A 17-year-old girl has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Complainant Arun Kumar of Jassian village told the police that on November 2, his daughter along with his neighbour had gone to pay obeisance at Chhath Pooja, but she did not return home. He suspected that she could have been kept under illegal confinement by some unknown person. After registering a case, the police have launched a manhunt to trace the girl. TNS Ludhiana: The Koom Kalan police have booked a man on the charge of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl. The suspect has been identified as Rakesh of Koom Kalan. Complainant Jatinder Kumar of Sidhupur village told the police that on November 7, his daughter had left home without informing anyone in the family. Later, complainant came to know that the suspect had kidnapped his daughter on the pretext of marrying her. The police launched a probe in this connection. TNS
