Nationalist Justice Party demands Bharat Ratna for martyrs

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, November 18The members of the Nationalist Justice Party launched an indefinite protest demanding the Bharat Ratna for martyrs, including Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Udham Singh and Chander Shekhar Azad. The party members sat on a dharna near the statue of martyrs at Jagraon Bridge today. Rashpal Singh Gill, president of the party, said the successive governments had been ignoring the martyrs since the country got independence. The party members also demanded that the photos of the martyrs must be displayed in the Parliament. Rashpal Singh said they would continue their protest to awake the Central and state governments.

He demanded that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh must bring a resolution in the State Assembly and then send it to the Central Government to honour the martyrs with Bharat Ratna at the earliest. The party members also demanded that the photos of the martyrs must be displayed in the Parliament. Rashpal Singh said they would continue their protest to awake the Central and state governments.
