Thieves target shop, two houses

Our CorrespondentLudhiana, December 2Thieves broke into an electronics goods shop on Chandigarh Road here and took away LEDs and microwave oven on the night of November 26. In his complaint to the police, the showroom owner said he had locked his shop on Tuesday night around 9 pm and went home. “Next morning, the owner of RK Metal, a factory adjoining to my shop, intimated me over the phone that a portion of rear wall of the shop had been broken. On reaching the shop, I found that several electrical and electronics appliances displayed in the shop were missing,” the complainant said. The Moti Nagar police have registered a case under sections 477/380 of the IPC against unknown persons and investigation was on.

The exact number of appliances stolen was still being assessed, said Ranbir Singh, owner of Rajat Electronics and resident of Jeewan Singh Nagar Colony. In his complaint to the police, the showroom owner said he had locked his shop on Tuesday night around 9 pm and went home. “Next morning, the owner of RK Metal, a factory adjoining to my shop, intimated me over the phone that a portion of rear wall of the shop had been broken. On reaching the shop, I found that several electrical and electronics appliances displayed in the shop were missing,” the complainant said. House burgled during daytime Burglars entered a house near Krishna Chowk in New Kundanpuri during daytime and escaped with valuables while lady of the house was working in the kitchen. Her husband was away to Delhi for some work. Raman Kapoor has lodged a complaint with the police that on November 30, while he was away to Delhi, his wife Sakshi, who was cooking food in the kitchen, heard the door of the drawing room banged. “When she went inside the room, she found several household items and valuables, including a lap top, keypad, mouse, two mobile phones and seven or eight gem stones, missing. The Division 8 police have registered a case under section 380 of the IPC in this regard. Meanwhile, another house was burgled at Guru Angad Dev Colony between November 23 and 25 when Sanjeev Kumar, owner of the house, and his family members were in Rajasthan to pay obeisance at Shri Salasar Hanuman Mandir in Churu. In a complaint lodged with the Sadar police station, the complainant said as the entire family was going out, he had locked the house around 6 pm on November 23. “But when we came back on November 25, the iron mesh and door of a window of the kitchen opening towards the street were found broken and locks of the cup boards opened. The burglars had decamped with jewellery and cash from the cupboards,” said the complaint. The police have registered a case under section 457/380 of the IPC.
