Resident seeking cheaper SUV from Kerala duped of Rs 10 lakh

The police said the suspects had taken Rs 2 lakh from the complainant and given him visa, ticket and employment agreement from a company, which were all forged. 3 police have registered a case of fraud and cheating against Ish Makkar, a resident of Dharampura, and his accomplice Sham Lal of Tilak Nagar for cheating Dharminder Sharma, a resident of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Park here. According to the police, the complainant had borrowed money from Ish Makkar in 2013-14. Thereafter, the suspects filed a false case under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act in a bid to extort money,” the police added.

A case under section 420/120-B of the IPC for fraud and criminal conspiracy has been registered against Naval Kishore, a resident of Durgapuri Colony in the city, Santosh Kumar Purohit, Arvind Kumar, Mahadev, Ghafoor and Navreen, all residents of Thrissur in Kerala. The police said the case was registered after preliminary investigation on a complaint of Kewal Bajaj, who had alleged that the gang of cheats had taken Rs 10,26,927 from him on the promise of getting him an SUV (Creta) from Kerala 33 per cent cheaper than the market price of the vehicle. No arrest has been made so far. Immigration fraud The Basti Jodhewal police have registered a case under sections 420/120-B of the IPC and section 24 of the Immigration Act against Kulwant Singh, a resident of Reona village in Fathegarh Sahib and Abdul Sattar, a resident of Khanna, for cheating Amarjit of Gagandeep Colony in Puri Vihar, Bajra, on the pretext of sending his son abroad. The police said the suspects had taken Rs 2 lakh from the complainant and given him visa, ticket and employment agreement from a company, which were all forged. The suspects threatened him when he demanded his money back. Two booked The Division No. 3 police have registered a case of fraud and cheating against Ish Makkar, a resident of Dharampura, and his accomplice Sham Lal of Tilak Nagar for cheating Dharminder Sharma, a resident of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Park here. According to the police, the complainant had borrowed money from Ish Makkar in 2013-14. “After the loan was repaid, the suspect, along with his accomplice, used the stamp paper to prepare an agreement for sale of 125 square yards of plot and two blank cheques taken from the complainant were presented to the bank with amount of Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, which had bounced. Thereafter, the suspects filed a false case under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act in a bid to extort money,” the police added.
