City players make a mark in state games

MISSION TANDRUST PUNJABOur Sports CorrespondentLudhiana, December 5Players from Ludhiana district made their mark in different age groups during the state games held under the Tandrust Punjab Mission to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. These games were conducted for boys and girls in U-14, 18 and 25 age-groups. Besides, Ludhiana district secured overall second position in the boys as well as girls’ U-14 category while boys finished at third place in the U-18 group and in U-25 section. Ravinder Singh appreciated the players’ performance in the tournament. He congratulated their coaches for their guidance in this achievement.

MISSION TANDRUST PUNJAB Our Sports Correspondent Ludhiana, December 5 Players from Ludhiana district made their mark in different age groups during the state games held under the Tandrust Punjab Mission to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. These games were conducted for boys and girls in U-14, 18 and 25 age-groups. According to a press release issued by Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, competition in 20 sports disciplines — archery, athletics, basketball, badminton, boxing, fencing, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi (national and circle styles), kho-kho, roller skating, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling — was organised during the campaign wherein boys and girls from Ludhiana district secured different positions. Besides, Ludhiana district secured overall second position in the boys as well as girls’ U-14 category while boys finished at third place in the U-18 group and in U-25 section. Ravinder Singh appreciated the players’ performance in the tournament. He congratulated their coaches for their guidance in this achievement.
