Centre for Kartarpur Sahib registration opens in city

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, December 4The Sikhs of America and Sewa Sankalp Society in collaboration with Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Sarabha Nagar, on Wednesday initiated a drive for registration for the ‘sangat’ (devotees), especially senior citizens, who wish to visit and pay obeisance at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, Pakistan. Padma Bhushan awardee, Dr Sardara Singh Johl, inaugurated the registration centre set up at the gurdwara in Sarabha Nagar. The Sewa Sankalp Society vice-president, Harpreet Sandhu, said, “The centre has been set up in a gurdwara room where free registration for the period of twelve months will be accessible to devotees.”“Sewa Sankalp Society’s motto is ‘sewa da sankalp’. We are reaching out to people of all ages, religions and castes to come forward and join us to make this world a better place to live by means of ‘sewa’,” he added. The Sewa Sankalp Society general secretary, Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Ranjodh Singh, an industrialist, Sukhwinder Singh Grewal, Dean (Students Welfare), CT University, and members of the gurdwara parbandhak committee were also present on the occasion.
