SCHOOL NOTES Ludhiana: Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, organised a two-day mathematics workshop for all teachers of the 11 branches of Nankana Sahib Public School. Avtar Singh, a national awardee, who has been in the core committee of Padho Punjab (which had only six members) was the resource person. He has also remained paper setter for 11 years for National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). As many as 40 teachers from 11 branches of NSPS participated in the workshop. The mathematicians were given the in-depth knowledge of number system on the first day. PERSONAL HYGIENE DAY observed To create an awareness among NCC cadets, a personal hygiene day was celebrated in BVM Senior Secondary School, Sector-39, Chandigarh Road, under the supervision of Kirandeep Kaur. The school staff nurse Paramjit Kaur delivered a lecture on the significance of adopting good personal hygiene habits such as hand washing, cleanliness of clothes, teeth, hair and nails, etc, to prevent diseases and infections. Each student was also observed thoroughly to assess their status of personal hygiene. School principal Upasna Modgil also motivated the students about cleanliness. Students enjoy sports picnic ABC Magical World organised a sports picnic with their little Montessorian. The tiny tots were dressed in their school sports uniform. Teachers told them about the importance of sports for their health through a PowerPoint presentation and enactment in the classrooms. It was an exciting morning for the children as well as for the teachers. The children were taken to Leisure Valley for sports activities. The picnic started with numerous races such as shopping race, crawling ants race, ball and bucket race, bhangra race, bat & ball race, frezebee race, huddle race and bag race. TNS
