Ramanjit Sandhu, member of a teacher union, said the teachers in his school protested by wearing black badges. “Although some teachers were not aware but we arranged the badges as we felt the need to mark the protest since using profane words against teachers, who are the nation builders, cannot be taken lightly,” he said. Sukhdev Singh Hatur, centre head teacher, Government Primary School, Galib Kalan, along with his entire staff, wore black badges as a mark of protest against the state education minister. “The minister should feel sorry for his words, else the union is planning to burn the effigy of the minister on December 10 and 11,” he said.
