Jasmeen bags title in open TT tourney

Sports CorrespondentLudhiana November 22Jasmeen a trainee of the Aspire Academy clinched the title in the cadet girls' section in the Open Ludhiana District Table Tennis Tournament for cadet and sub-junior boys and girls being held at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium here today. In the final Jasmeen faced a little challenge from Yashvi Sharma whom she outperformed in straight sets (11-6 11-8 and 11-9) to lift the title. Earlier in the semi-finals Jasmeen outplayed Reet 3-0 (11-6 11-4 and 11-3) while Yashvi defeated Bhavneet Kaur 3-0 (11-6 11-9 and 11-7) to settle for the title clash. In the cadet boys' category Aarav Dadu outclassed Jaspreet Singh 11-5 11-7 and 11-8 whereas Raghav Bhanot got the better of Satvik Jindal (11-8 11-7 7-11 and 11-6) to set up the summit clash. In the sub-junior girls' semi-finals Sehajpreet Kaur overcame stiff resistence from Yati whom she overpowered (11-8 9-11 11-9 and 12-10) to secure a berth in the final where she would face Yana who beat Palak (11-4 11-3 and 11-7).
