Husband brothers booked on charge of woman s death

Led by SHO Sukhdev Singh Brar the Dehlon police have registered an FIR under Sections 302 201 and 34 of the IPC against the victim's husband and his two brothers. The suspects were identified as Mohammad Shafiq her husband Mohammad Zakur of Madli Kog in Kathua district and Mohammad Faruq of Paddi village in Ludhiana district. On November 10 Mohammad Faruq informed Kadir Hussain about the sudden death of Shanu following which her body was taken to Madli Kog village and buried as usual. Subash Kataria an official at the Dehlon police station said an investigation had been initiated to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the death of the victim. He said a team of police personnel led by Ranjit Singh would leave for Jammu to arrest the suspects with the help of the Jammu and Kashmir police.

Our Correspondent Mandi Ahmedgarh November 23 The Dehlon police have initiated a probe into an incident in which a youth of the Kathua region in Jammu along with his two brothers had allegedly killed his wife at Paddi village in Dehlon around a fortnight ago and attempted to destroy evidence by burying the body at Madli Kog village in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Led by SHO Sukhdev Singh Brar the Dehlon police have registered an FIR under Sections 302 201 and 34 of the IPC against the victims husband and his two brothers. The suspects were identified as Mohammad Shafiq her husband Mohammad Zakur of Madli Kog in Kathua district and Mohammad Faruq of Paddi village in Ludhiana district. The murder could have gone untraced had relatives of the deceased not noticed external injuries on observing her pictures and got the body exhumed with the permission of the authorities in Kathua district. Finding substance in suspicion raised by relatives of the deceased the authorities in Kathua got the autopsy conducted on the exhumed body and sought intervention of the Dehlon police as the actual crime took place at Paddi village in Ludhiana district. Kadir Hussain of Dasmesh Nagar Jagraon alleged that the suspects had allegedly killed his sister-in-law (wifes sister) Shanu by beating her a fortnight ago and tried to destroy evidence by burying the body at a graveyard at Madli Kog village in Kathua district. Investigations revealed that Mohammad Shafiq along with his pregnant wife Shanu had come to stay with his brothers at Paddi about two months ago and she had given birth to a son three weeks ago. On November 10 Mohammad Faruq informed Kadir Hussain about the sudden death of Shanu following which her body was taken to Madli Kog village and buried as usual. It was following close observations of photographs of the deceased that her relatives became suspicious about the cause of her death and they got the autposy conducted on the body after getting it exhumed with the permission of the Kathua district administration.
