Getting Remdesivir a difficult task in Ludhian

When I met the doctor I was told that they have less stock of Remdesivir injections with them. The injections are being given on priority to those patients who are already getting the dose. A man said the first dose of Remdesivir injection was to be given to his father who had been admitted to a private hospital. Patients getting the first dose will be given once they have more stock available with them” he said. Zonal Licensing Authority Kulwinder Singh said the district did not receive its stock of Remdesivir injections on Wednesday due to which these problems occurred.

Manav Mander Tribune News Service Ludhiana May 6 Remdesivir injection is being prescribed to Covid patients but since the district did not receive its stock yesterday families had a difficult time in arranging the injections today. Patients who were to receive their first dose were kept waiting. The stock was received by the district this evening and was distributed to the hospitals. A patient admitted to a private hospital was prescribed Remdesivir by the doctor and when the family member went to the pharmacy inside the hospital to get the same there was no stock. “I was told that I should arrange the injection on my own or else I will have to wait. When I met the doctor I was told that they have less stock of Remdesivir injections with them. The injections are being given on priority to those patients who are already getting the dose. New patients will have to wait for the stock to arrive” he said. A man said the first dose of Remdesivir injection was to be given to his father who had been admitted to a private hospital. “Doctors said although it is required but they will have to wait till more stock arrives. Today the dose was administered to those who had already got their first or second dose as it cannot be discontinued. Patients getting the first dose will be given once they have more stock available with them” he said. Zonal Licensing Authority Kulwinder Singh said the district did not receive its stock of Remdesivir injections on Wednesday due to which these problems occurred. “We have received the stock and will be distributed to the hospitals in evening. Total 834 injections were allotted today. The status of availability of injections will be shared on the website of the district administration too” he said.
