Couple alleges police inaction in assault case

Ludhiana August 19A man and his wife held a protest outside the Basti Jodhewal police station alleging police inaction in an assault case. They demanded registration of a case against a youth who had attacked their 16-year-old son on August 7 at Prem Vihar. The duo held a protest for over two hours following which the police assured them of taking action in the case. On August 8 a complaint was lodged at the police station but they did not register any case. If the police fail to register a case soon they will sit on an indefinite protest.
