Sports Correspondent Ludhiana August 19 Flamboyant left-handed batsman Nehal Wadhera cracked double hundred to enable Ludhiana reach a decent total of 327 for five declared on the first day of group B match against lowly placed Fatehgarh Sahib in the Inter-District Cricket Championship for Katoch Shield being played at the Hara School of Cricket ground Baddowal near here on Thursday. Batting first after winning the toss Ludhiana started on a cautious note losing wickets at regular intervals. However skipper and former India U-19 player Nehal stood his ground. Eventually he declared the innings at 327 for 5 after 71 overs. He remained unbeaten on 204 which came off 211 balls and laced with 8 sixes and 15 boundaries. Davinder Sidhu made 42 runs while Tanroop Saini contributed 37 and Tanishq remained not out on 21. The visitors were off to a dismal start and were struggling with six wickets down for only 32 runs on the board after 19 overs. Ludhiana medium pacer Baltej Singh scalped four victims after conceding just six runs while Deepin Chitkara secured one wicket for two runs and Siddhant Tiwari Om took one wicket for two runs.
