Ludhiana August 19Punjab State Safai Karamcharis Commission chairman Geja Ram Valmiki has once again raised questions over the working of the MC Ludhiana during a meeting held at Circuit House on Thursday. He accused officials of forcing sewer men to do manual scavenging. He alleged that the sewer men were still being forced to enter the manholes against the law and also without any safety gear. Notably in a meeting last month Geja Ram had announced to lodge FIR against MC officials responsible for allegedly forcing a sewer man to do manual scavenging at Jugiana. He had also accused the civic body officials of disrupting the meeting and demanded an FIR against them but MC officials had then denied the allegations.
