Ludhiana: A woman was crushed under recklessly driven truck on the Lalheri road Khanna. The deceased has been identified as Meena Rani a resident of Model Town Khanna. Complainant Gurcharan Singh told the Khanna city police that on Thursday he along with his mother had come to the Amloh road to buy some household items. “When we were heading back and reached the Lalheri road a truck (bearing registration No. HP 11 B 6157) came from the Mandi Gobindgarh side and rammed into my mother. She was crushed under the wheels of truck and died on the spot” said victims son. The investigation officer ASI Sukhdev Singh said truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. Later he was identified as Lakhbir Singh a resident of the Tibbi road Amloh the ASI added. A case of negligent driving under Section 304A IPC was registered against the truck driver who was yet to be arrested the ASI said. The police was conducting raids to nab him the ASI added. TNS
