I somehow collected Rs 20,000 from my near and dear ones and handed it over to the councillor’s husband. Seeing no result, I approached him again but was told that I will get the job after elections. In March, I went to the councillor with my family seeking my money back. But he threatened me with dire consequences if I even frequented the ward.” He said a police complaint was also filed. Allegations baseless, says councillor’s husband Councillor’s husband Ranjit Singh said Rajesh was levelling baseless allegations. “Two sewer men were harassing public in the area and I asked Rajesh to work for me in their place. But when I issued them a warning, they started working properly. Rajesh only worked in the area for 15 days and during that time also, he used to charge Rs 1,000 from public to clean sewers. I was getting several complaints against him. His son is suffering from some serious skin problem. I never took money from him. I have given money to the couple several times for his treatment. In fact I requested an XEN to provide him with job whenever there was a vacancy. He is levelling baseless allegations and this is being done at the behest of my opponents, Ranjit Singh said.
