Ludhiana, June 23Around 125 aspirants attended the trials conducted by the Punjab Sports Department to enroll players (boys U-17 and 19) for the Mata Sahib Kaur Hockey Academy in Jarkhar village on the Ludhiana- Malerkotla road today. District Sports Officer Kartar Singh Sehmbey, under whose guidance the trials were held, said 50 players in both age groups were shortlisted during the selection exercise. He said the list would be pruned to 32 players who would be registered with the academy under the residential wing of the department.He said the players would be provided with facilities such as diet money, free boarding and lodging, and training based on the modern hockey techniques.
