GNN College to host youth fest from Sept 24

Dr Narinder Singh Sidhu, principal of the college, said a total of 13 colleges are participating in the festival. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh when contacted said that the Zone-A festival is being conducted at GNN College since the college has been successfully holding such festivals as a matter of routine. Jaura further informed that this time, effort has been made to reduce the professional approach as far as possible.

These include AS College Khanna, Malwa College Bondali Samrala, Gobindgarh Public College Alour, Government College, Karamsar, Rara Sahib, BSSG, Government College Sidhsar, Arya College Ludhiana, SCD Government College, Ludhiana, Government Evening College Ludhiana, KLSD College, Ludhiana, Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Jhande, Punjab University Regional Centre Ludhiana, Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Hussainpura, Ludhiana, including the host college. The general secretary of the college management committee, Harpratap Brar, shared the management is grateful to the Youth Welfare Department of Chandigarh for holding the Zonal Youth Festival in their college as this would indeed be a wonderful experience not only for the participating teams but also for those students who may gain a lot observing such shows where a number of colleges compete on one single platform. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh when contacted said that the Zone-A festival is being conducted at GNN College since the college has been successfully holding such festivals as a matter of routine. Jaura further informed that this time, effort has been made to reduce the professional approach as far as possible. “For this matter, it has specifically been decided that rather than professionals assisting the performing students, the latter shall themselves recite the boliyan while performing the folk dances.” According to Dean, Cultural Activities Prof Gursharan Kaur,” Around 1,500 artists will be participating in a total of 60 items in the festival spread over four days i.e. till September 27.
