Ludhiana, September 21 A five-year-old boy is undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC) and Hospital — patient number C-7759028. Anshu, the patient, has been admitted due to suspected collection of blood in his internal organs and was operated upon by a team of paediatric surgeons at the CMCH. His biopsy has returned as lymphoma which is a cancer. Anshu’s disease has a high potential for cure and the cost of treatment is estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh over a course of six to eight months. His father Ram Nath is a daily wage laborer. During mornings he works at construction sites and then doubles up as a sanitation worker in the hospital at night. The CMCH calls upon well-wishers to support Anshu’s treatment.
