The trains rescheduled by the railways due to operational reasons were 12014 Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi Express (3.45 hours), 12029 New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express (4.10 hours), 12013 New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express (5.10 hours), 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express (10.25 hours), 12358 Amritsar-Kolkata Superfast Express (4.05 hours), 14673 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (3.15 hours), 12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi Express (2.25 hours). As per the official information provided by the railway authorities, several other long-route trains were running way behind schedule causing immense inconvenience to passengers. To add to the woes of travelling public, two pairs of morning and evening Shatabdi express trains on the New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi route were rescheduled (late departure) by three to five hours.
