Members of Punjab Education Department Ministerial Staff Association had gone on strike due to transfer of the president association. It has been written that action will be taken against the staff which will remain on strike under Punjab Civil Services Rules. The department has in fact, sought information of the employees who have been on strike, so that strict action can be taken in this matter. The promotions of staff to the posts of senior assistant, superintendent and administrative officer should no longer be withheld, they had demanded.

The department has written to the District Education Officers, all heads of government colleges and principals of District Institute of Education and Training that due to strike of the staff, the work of the department has been suffering, resulting in hampering of work. It has been written that action will be taken against the staff which will remain on strike under Punjab Civil Services Rules. The department has in fact, sought information of the employees who have been on strike, so that strict action can be taken in this matter. Members of Punjab Education Department Ministerial Staff Association had gone on strike due to transfer of the president association. They also demanded parity in the seniority and salaries of officials in head office and those working in the field. They also demanded one per cent quota for non-teaching cadre having BEd, MEd degree to get master cadre for teacher should not be discontinued. The promotions of staff to the posts of senior assistant, superintendent and administrative officer should no longer be withheld, they had demanded.
