DINDIGULFormer president of Anaipatti Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society in Nilakottai, Manikandan, was arrested on Saturday on a charge of embezzling ?27.99 lakh. Acting on a complaint lodged by the Deputy Registrar, Dindigul Commercial Crime Branch Police registered a case, arrested Manikandan and produced him before Judicial Magistrate Court II. He also found withdrawal of ?3.21 lakh from the society fund without tabling any bills between October 1 and December 31, 2016. But a bogus record was created in a day. Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives, who checked the society’s records recently, found that a bogus record was created for a ?12.79 lakh crop loan.
