CBSE students pass with flying colours in class 12 examinations

In 2017, 431 students appeared and 427 students passed. A total of 111 students scored above 400 and four students scored centum in Mathematics, Economics and Computer science, said Subha Manikandan, Principal of the school. From the six CBSE schools that provided data on the results, there was a spike with 643 students appearing for the exam, of which 640 students passed. Mahatma Montessori School (CBSE) had a total of 210 students appearing for the exams with one student failing to clear Mathematics. All the 108 students who appeared from Velammal Vidyalaya school passed and students Adit Bandari and Kavi Rakshana scored a total of 474, the highest in the school.

more-in MADURAI Schools in Madurai missed the 100% pass results by a whisker in the class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE), the results of which were announced on Saturday. Over the past two years, the number of students appearing for board examinations from CBSE schools has been on the rise. In 2017, 431 students appeared and 427 students passed. From the six CBSE schools that provided data on the results, there was a spike with 643 students appearing for the exam, of which 640 students passed. The pass percentage marginally went up from 99.08% in 2017 to 99.5% in 2018. P. Selvaraj, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Narimedu, said that though there was an increase in pass percentage, high scorers in the commerce stream had dipped this year. A total of 161 students from the school appeared and 159 passed bringing the percentage to 98.76. B. Vaishnavi, a student from the Science stream in the school, stood first with 488 marks. A total of 65 students from Commerce and Science streams from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 school in Tirupparankundram appeared for the exam and all students passed, said sources from the school. Nithyashree from the school scored 484 marks, the highest in the school. The maiden batch of 14 Plus Two students from Queen Mira International School appeared for the exam this year. Sujatha Guptan, Principal of the school, said that all the students cleared the exam. A total of 85 students from Adhyapana School appeared for the exam and the highest score from the school was 484 by a student named Shanmugam. All the 108 students who appeared from Velammal Vidyalaya school passed and students Adit Bandari and Kavi Rakshana scored a total of 474, the highest in the school.
