The father of the girl approached the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court seeking a compensation of ?30 lakh. MaduraiThe Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday directed TANGEDCO to pay ? one lakh as an interim relief to the family of a girl, who died after coming in contact with a live wire. Justice S.S.Sundar ordered that the compensation must be disbursed immediately to the family and adjourned the case by three weeks after asking the TANGEDCO to file a counter. Thought several representations were made to the TANGEDCO at Theppakulam division to repair the pole, no action was taken. It was the negligence on the part of the TANGEDCO which resulted in his daughter’s death, he said.
