Lakshmiarun more-in Thousands of devotees from various parts of the country witnessed the maha samprokshanam of Nanguneri Sri Vanamamalai Perumal Temple, one of the 108 ‘Divyadesam’, that was conducted after a gap of 110 years in a grand manner on Friday. Led by Madhurakavi Vanamamalai Ramanuja Seer, the yagasala for the maha samprokshanam commenced on June 23 even as ‘paaraayanam’ was going on continuously at various points of the shrine. After the end of the 9th yagasala puja, the maha samprokshanam was performed simultaneously to rajagopuram and the vimanas of Sri Perumal, thaayar and Andal. This was witnessed by thousands of devotees. Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthana Junior Pontiff, seers of various mutts, Nanguneri MLA H. Vasanthakumar and special invitees participated in the samprokshanam. After special alangaaram and deepaaraadhanai, ‘annadhaanam’ was conducted. Veethi ulaa of Sri Perumal and Thaayaar was conducted in the night. Police had made elaborate security arrangements in view of the historic event.
