There is no let-up in chain-snatching incidents

In another chain-snatching incident reported on Friday, L. Sivamalarkodi, 29, sustained injuries when she fell down from a new two-wheeler as two robbers yanked her gold chain at Chekkanoorani. Police said that the robbers, who were following her on a motorcycle, snatched her two-sovereign gold chain. A gold chain weighing 10 sovereigns was snatched from a woman, Murugeswari, 55, while she was walking at Alagappan Nagar under Subramaniapuram police station limits on Saturday. ?5 lakh stolenOver ?5 lakh was stolen from a finance office at T. Kallupatti. The deceased, hailing from Tiruppuvanam in Sivaganga district, was riding a motorcycle with his wife Subbulakshmi and son Surya.

Panchavarnam, 37, was killed in a road accident on Ring Road on the bridge across Vaigai river on Sunday afternoon. The deceased, hailing from Tiruppuvanam in Sivaganga district, was riding a motorcycle with his wife Subbulakshmi and son Surya. A TNSTC bus proceeding to Tirunelveli hit the vehicle. The man was killed on the spot. ?5 lakh stolen Over ?5 lakh was stolen from a finance office at T. Kallupatti. Police said that in his complaint, the zonal manager of Muthoot Microfin, S. Saravanan, 33, had stated that three employees had left the day’s collection of ?5.01 lakh in the office on Friday. When they came back the next day, they found the money missing.
