| Photo Credit: R. AshokChief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday inaugurated new facilities, set up at a cost of around ? 6 crore, at Government Rajaji Hospital here through videoconference. The facilities included a new catheterisation lab (Cath lab), a new 16-slice CT scanner equipment, a District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), a new Toxicology Ward and a facility for the Medical Records Department. Advanced: The CT scanner at Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami through videoconferencing on Monday. Stating that the new Toxicology Ward would have at least 12 beds, he said that the beds would be equipped with central oxygen supply, ventilator and monitoring equipment. He said that the DEIC would act as a centre for early identification and treatment for children with congenital ailments.
