The Perumalpuram police here have registered a case against evangelist Mohan C. Lazarus for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Hindu deities. Subsequently, the Perumalpuram police on Wednesday registered case against Mr. Mohan under Section 295 (A) of Indian Penal Code (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs). The comments, which were of in bad taste, would trigger rift between different religions and hence the police should take action against him by registering a case, the complainant demanded. More casesCases were also registered against Mr.Mohan at four police stations in Thoothukudi on Wednesday. According to a complaint preferred by one Vinoth Kumar of Perumalpuram based on a video clip shared on social media, Mr. Mohan was reportedly making derogatory remarks against the Hindu deities.
