Four antiquities were stolen from Chitraradha Vallabha Perumal temple in Kuruvithurai near Madurai on Saturday night. The unidentified persons stole the idols of Lord Vallabha Perumal, Goddess Sridevi, Goddess Boomadevi and Lord Srinivasagar from the temple located along the Vaigai river near Sholavandan. Three aged security men were sleeping outside the temple when the culprits broken the temple around 12:30 a.m. The panchaloha idols, said to be around 100 years old, were burgled on Saturday midnight, Madurai district Superintendent of Police N. Manivannan said. The temple CCTV footage showed two masked men entering the temple.
