A massive surge in Covid-19 cases has pushed the demand for Covid-19 medicines to the extreme. On one hand, Remdesivir`s supply has dried up in the entire country, while on the other, black marketing and hoarding of Remdisivir is taking up pace.

In a startling incident, A video of a Madurai Medical College employee stealing Remdesivir has gone viral. This comes at a time when Tamil Nadu is facing a severe shortage of the drug.

The video was allegedly shot by a Covid-19 patient`s relative.
In a set of videos, the staff member was seen keeping the Remdesivir vials in a garbage disposal bag and then taking it into a storeroom and leaving them inside a dustbin.
The patient`s relative followed the staff and then confronted him. The police will now investigate the matter.
