Coronavirus is wreaking havoc in the country as record Covid-19 cases are being reported, almost every state/UT in the country is under a lockdown due to it.

Indian Railways is cancelling numerous trains across the country given the low passenger turnout in trains. To ensure that the passengers do not face any trouble, the railway is providing information about the cancellation of trains from time to time through the Twitter handle of each zone. In the midst of all this, the Railways has decided to cancel more than 30 trains running between May 14, 15 and 16.

Southern Railway (SR) zone has also decided to halt the operation of several trains under its supervision.

According to the statement issued by Southern Railway, `Train number 02639 Dr MGR Chennai Central - Allapuzha Special, train number 06630 Mangalore Central - Thiruvananthapuram Special, train number 06188 Ernakulam Junction - Karaikal Special and train number 06729 Madurai - Punalur Special trains stand cancelled from 15 to 31 May.

Similarly, train number 02640 Allapuzha-Dr MGR Chennai Central Special, train number 06629 Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Central Special, train number 06187 Karaikkal-Ernakulam Special and train number 06730 Punalur-Madurai Special trains have been cancelled between May 16 and June 1. Train number 02686 Mangalore Central - Chennai Central Daily Special have also been cancelled from May 15 to June 1.

Train No 02205 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram daily special is cancelled from May 16 to June 1

Train No 02206 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore daily special is cancelled from May 15 to 31. And train No 06343 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Madurai Junction Daily (Amritha) special is cancelled from May 15 to 31

The Southern Railway also said that train No 06344 Madurai Junction – Thiruvananthapuram Central Daily (Amritha) special will be cancelled from May 16 to June 1

On the other side, train No 06321 Nagercoil – Coimbatore daily special leaving Nagercoil at 7.35 AM and Train No 06322 Coimbatore – Nagercoil daily special leaving Coimbatore at 8 AM are also temporarily cancelled from May 14 to 31.
