The residents of ward 57 have been repeatedly complaining about absence of water supply in their area. A.C. Rathinapandian, a resident, said that water was provided only when residents staged a protest. In a bid to draw attention to their water woes, over 200 residents of Anuppanadi blocked the entrance of Zone 3 office of the Madurai Corporation on Chairman Muthuramaiyer Road on Tuesday. The Corporation regularly holds grievance meetings at zonal level on water problems, underground drainage system, property tax and other civic issues. The Commissioner assured the residents that he would look into their problem and inspect the ward soon.
