At around 9 a.m. on February 18, three persons, Ganesh Acharya, Pranesh and Prabhakar Poojary, illegally stopped him (Mr. Ramesh Poojary), abused, slapped and beat him. The municipal councillor against whom a youth had lodged a complaint of assault on February 18 has lodged a counter complaint with the police. A case has been registered based on the complaint given by Mr. Ramesh Poojary at the Udupi Town Police Station. In his complaint lodged with the Udupi Town Police Station here, Ramesh Poojary, municipal councillor, said that he had gone to inspect the road development works near Shalini petrol station on the left side of Gundibail-Kalsank Road. The road development work had been taken up as per tenders floated by the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC).
