Attempt to murder case: Police nab 3 more aides of actor

MANGALURU: The district police on Wednesday arrested three more people in connection with an attempt to murder case involving an actor from the Tulu film industry.Police have identified the accused as Pradeep, 28, Tilak, 28 and Manohar, 28, all residents of Bantwal. Ganesh had alleged that Surendra and his accomplices arrived in two vehicles near a hotel where they were headed for lunch. This led to friction between the two parties. They were nabbed from Farangipete in Bantwal.The police had earlier arrested the key accused in the case, actor Surendra Bhandary , and his aides Sathish Kulal and Prithviraj J Shetty.On June 11, Ganesh Rai, secretary of the BJP unit in Bantwal, had filed a complaint at the Bantwal Town station that Surendra and his accomplices led a murderous assault on him and his friends. He alleged that Surendra first launched a verbal attack, after which he brandished a sword in a bid to murder him.The accused were booked under IPC Sections 143 and 149 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon), 307 (attempt to murder) and 395 (dacoity).According to sources, Surendra had been associated with the Sangh Parivar for long, but bid adieu to the saffron front some time ago and joined the Congress.
