DKMUL bonanza: 2.91L extra packets sold

  • | Thursday | 12th July, 2018

“The 29,100 extra packets of milk sold meant that the milk agents were in constant touch with the marketing managers updating and modifying their indent as the day progressed,” he said. This did create a challenge for a section of the dealers who had placed their indent based on their regular sales while few others did vary it keeping in mind the possible consumer reaction thanks to widespread publicity the offer received.Quantifying the day’s sales down to the last packet of milk, B V Sathyanarayana, managing director, DKMUL, told TOI that the union sold packets of 6,38,145 packets of milk in 500ml, 1,000 ml and six litre variants during the day against 6,09,045 packets of milk that it sold on Wednesday. Mangaluru: A daylong bonanza announced by the Dakshina Kannada Milk Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd (DKMUL) for its consumers to give 180ml sachet of Trupti long shelf life milk free with every 500ml, one and six litre pack of milk that it sold created a marketing buzz in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The milk union sold 15,000 litres of milk extra to touch 3.45 lakh litres against daily average of 3.30 lakh litres of milk it sells otherwise. The bonanza, however, brought its own challenges for the union in that customers besieged the milk agents for 500ml packets instead of the regular one or six litre jumbo packs they purchased otherwise.
