Moideen was reluctant to bring out autobiography, say authors

Moideen did not want to get his autobiography written and finally agreed after being told that his life and work will be model to the next generation, recalled B.A. The writers said that they had urged Moideen to share his experiences for about three years. “Moideen was happy with the book and was looking forward to its release. Mr. Ali and Mr. Kulai said they are happy that the ideals of Moideen are kept alive through the work and added that his family members cooperated with them. Speaking to reporters here, the writers said the work would be released as scheduled on Friday at Town Hall, Mangaluru, by former Hampi Kannada University Vice Chancellor B.A. Vivek Rai at 4 p.m. Moideen’s associates, including the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Legislative Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar, the former Minister M.C. Nanaiah, and others will be present. The writers said that they had urged Moideen to share his experiences for about three years. Finally, last November he acquiesced. “Moideen narrated everything, right from his childhood to college life, family life, politics and so on.” He told the writers that the work was not to glorify him but to put forth his pains and principles. “Moideen was happy with the book and was looking forward to its release. He decided the guests for the programme and invited them over phone.” The night before he died, Moideen told the writers that he would come to Mangaluru on July 15 and had inquired about the preparations for the release programme. Mr. Ali and Mr. Kulai said they are happy that the ideals of Moideen are kept alive through the work and added that his family members cooperated with them. Moideen’s son Asif Masood and son-in-law Ahmed Sharief were present.
