Ex- professor of Mangalore varsity dies in accident

Jayagopal Uchil, founder-chairman of the Department of Materials Science, Mangalore University, died in a road accident on Hosur Road in Bengaluru on Friday. He was a former Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology of the university. Prof. Uchil was also a member of Senate, Syndicate and Academic Council of the university. The fatally injured Uchil was shifted to Greenfield’s Hospital, HSR Layout, where he died around 10.45 a.m. He is survived by his wife Jayasheela and two daughters.

He was a former Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology of the university. Prof. Uchil was also a member of Senate, Syndicate and Academic Council of the university.
